OPEN CALLS

AROUSING SUSPICIONS, An Anthology

What we’re looking for:  Nothing--and no one--is what it seems. Bring us your best horrotica/dark erotica stories featuring a character who is more--or less--than s/he seems. Spin us a tale that arouses both our libidos and our suspicion; make us want to take a step closer even when we know we should run the other way.

Word Count: 8-15k

Deadline: December 15th, 2017

Anticipated Release Date: 2018 (All stories will go through a rigorous editing process to guarantee a polished, clean final manuscript. Actual release date will be announced at some point after the submission deadline.)

Submission Guidelines: Submit all documents in either .doc, .docx,  or .rtf form. Times New Roman or Courier font, size 12. Although this is an erotica anthology, please do not write sex just for sex’s sake; erotic passages should help to propel the plot forward, and the story should be solid in plot, development, and resolution. Extreme levels of violence and/or sex will be considered, again, as long as it is vital to the overall story.

Expectations: Upon acceptance of your submission, you agree to join small Facebook group to be notified of all updates regarding this project. You also agree to participate in promotional blog tours and prearranged interviews. Finally, by submitting you agree to work in a timely fashion with your assigned editor.

Send all submissions to darkpersuasionssubs@gmail.com. Please put “Arousing Suspicions” Submission in the subject line. Use the body of the email as a cover letter and be sure to include your submission as an attachment. No simultaneous submissions; however, if your first submission is rejected, you are welcome to submit a second piece. Reprints will be considered on a limited basis, as long as you retain the publishing rights to the story; if you submit a reprint, please include in your cover letter where it has been published before, proof that you retain the rights to it, and why you feel it’s a good fit for “Arousing Suspicions.”
